I am a sole trader trading as Michael C. Ward Consultant Motor Engineer and operator of http://www.vehicle-inspections.co.uk (our website) which is provided by me for the purpose of accessing information about me and my services and/or contacting me.

I am committed to protecting and respecting clients’ and potential clients’ privacy.

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our policy and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By contacting me regarding our services you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is Michael Ward.

    Myself and my wife Linda Ward, as data processors, obtain personal information you supply when you enquire about our activities via mail, email or telephone call.
  2. What information do we collect?
    The personal and vehicle information we collect will depend on the nature of the enquiry which will be the minimum relating to providing an estimate or quotation for my services. Any information from an enquiry is retained for six months, it is not shared with any other parties and then deleted if no further contact has been made.
    If instructed as an independent engineer/expert witness then the information/evidence we collect will be that provided by the customer or their representative to assist in my investigations to produce a report.

  4. How do we use this information?
    Depending on your relationship with us, we will use your personal information for the following purposes:
    • to provide you with the services, products or information you have requested.
    • to provide information to you about us.
    • for general administration purposes, such as handling your enquiry.
      We do not share your information with our service providers, associated organisations and agents and we never sell or pass on your information to other organisations.
  5. Marketing.
    We do not send out marketing material to any previous or existing enquirers or to clients/customers.
  6. How do we protect your personal information?
    All of our online forms that may collect personal data are protected by encryption. We take appropriate measures to safeguard personal information that is disclosed to us and keep it secure for the above specified periods and specific legal periods following production of a report.
  7. Will we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?
    We will not sell or pass on any information about you.
    We may need to disclose your information if required by law (for example to government bodies and law enforcement agencies) or if we have your permission to do so.

    By providing us with your personal data, including any sensitive personal data, you consent to the collection and use of this information in accordance with the purposes described above and this privacy policy.
